A meeting of the project council of the Ombudsman's Office and UNDP office was held in Ashgabat with the participation of Human Rights Commissioner in Turkmenistan Yazdursun Gurbannazarova and acting UNDP Resident Representative in Turkmenistan Tomitsa Paovich. The implementation of the joint project "Assistance in Strengthening the Institutional Capacity of the Ombudsman's Office of Turkmenistan" has been extended until the end of 2024. In this connection, the results of work in this area over the past year were considered, as well as tasks and activities for the coming period.
In addition, the accreditation of the Ombudsman's Office with the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions and the promotion of further institutional capacity-building of the Office in accordance with the Paris Principles were to be discussed.
