The International Festival "Meetings in Russia" was held in St. Petersburg, where the Ashgabat youth theater "Artist" successfully presented the production "Profitable Place" based on the play by Alexander Ostrovsky. This is reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
The Turkmen artists also showed the audience the ancient folk dance "Kushtdepdi", which is included in the list of intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO.
The festival organizers held an International Conference, where representatives of theaters from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan took part. Russian Minister of Culture O. Lyubimova and Russian representative for international cultural cooperation M. Shvydkoy addressed the forum participants with a video message.
All theater groups received commemorative diplomas for participation in the festival "Meetings in Russia".
