On July 16, the foreign ministers of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and the PRC held an online meeting "Central Asia - China. The participants discussed topical issues of interaction in politics, economy, trade and cultural sphere.
The COVID-19 pandemic was one of the key topics at the forum. Diplomats shared their experiences in combating the coronavirus, including prevention and treatment, and considered measures to reduce the socio-economic impact of the pandemic.
Meredov proposed to intensify joint work of the meeting participants in this direction. He noted that the Central Asian countries and China, using their powerful potential, can become a pillar for overall stability and security.
Other topics of the meeting included cooperation in the format of international organizations (in particular, the UN), uniting efforts to ensure peace in Afghanistan.
Diplomats also considered prospects for expanding cooperation in energy, IT, transportation, agriculture, science and medicine.
