On March 20, during the working visit of the Turkmen delegation to Italy, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held talks with President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development Alvaro Lario and Deputy Director General of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Maurizio Martina. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The issues of cooperation in the agricultural sector between Turkmenistan and the International Fund for Agricultural Development were considered. The parties discussed possible new directions of cooperation in this area.
In the course of negotiations with the FAO management the issues of realization of current and planned joint projects were touched upon. Special attention was paid to the issues of food security and climate change.
