Long-lived woman from Ashgabat congratulated by Vladimir Putin

Matrena Volgina, a resident of Ashgabat, veteran of the Great Patriotic War, received a congratulatory message from President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin on March 28 in connection with her 100th birthday. This was reported by the Russian news agency "TASS".

Russian diplomats in Turkmenistan presented the woman with congratulations from the Head of Russia, wishing her good health and well-being and expressing gratitude for her feat.
Matrena Volgina now permanently resides in Ashgabat. In the years of the Great Patriotic War she was a communications officer and visited different fronts.

300 thousand Turkmenistanis fought against fascism, 130 thousand of whom were awarded orders and medals, 104 were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, and 15 became full cavaliers of the Order of Glory.
