Turkmenistan President meets with Iranian Foreign Minister

Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Iranian Foreign Minister Hosein Amir Abdollahian, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit. This was reported by the TurkmenPortal online edition.

During the talks, the head of Turkmenistan noted that the main aspect of the country's foreign policy is to strengthen ties with neighboring countries on the basis of friendship, mutual respect and trust.
He also emphasized the successful development of political and diplomatic dialogue. In the context of trade and economic cooperation, the importance of implementing joint projects in the field of energy and transportation was emphasized. In addition, an agreement was reached to search for new ways of cooperation in the fuel and energy complex.

The parties noted that cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere is of particular importance. Mutual visits, joint cultural events, Days of Culture and exhibitions are organized on a regular basis.
