A delegation of the Russian Federal Customs Service arrived in Ashgabat on Monday for a two-day visit aimed at strengthening customs cooperation between the two countries. This is reported on the official website of the Customs Service of Turkmenistan.
The trip was organized within the framework of the Plan of joint activities for 2022-2024 agreed between Russia and Turkmenistan last year. During their stay in Ashgabat, the delegates of the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation met with representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, discussed the implementation of the plan and priorities for further cooperation.
The key topics of the meetings were mutual recognition of authorized economic operators, which will simplify customs procedures for goods moving between Russia and Turkmenistan. The delegations also considered opportunities for wider information exchange and cooperation in the field of training.
According to the schedule, on Tuesday, September 19, the Russian delegation will visit the international customs terminal and meet with local authorities in Arkadag before concluding its trip.
The main purpose of the visit is to strengthen customs ties between Russia and Turkmenistan. The two-day trip highlights the ongoing cooperation between the countries aimed at facilitating trade and implementing a joint action plan.
