Turkmenistan's Consul General in Kazan participated in Russia's Diplomat's Day

The Consul General of Turkmenistan in Kazan took part in the events dedicated to the Russian Diplomat's Day at IMO KFU.

Turkmenistan's Consul General in Kazan A.H.Bayramov took part in events marking Russian Diplomat's Day at the Institute of International Relations of Kazan Federal (Volga Region) University. The conference was also attended by the heads of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Office in Kazan, IMO KFU, the Uzbek and Turkish Consulates General and others.

In his address to the audience, the Consul General congratulated them on their holiday. He wished them continued success in training young diplomats.

Speaking about the foreign policy of Turkmenistan, the diplomat stressed that it is based on the principles of neutrality and aims to further expand and deepen strategic cooperation with Russia, as well as with some of its regions.

Thus, during the past year alone, the head of the Republic of Tatarstan, R.N. Minnikhanov, visited Turkmenistan twice, meeting with Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov and holding talks with him.

At the same time, the seventh meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Tatar group for cooperation in trade, economy, science, technology and culture was held on January 27, 2022 via videoconference. It was noted at the meeting that a number of Tatarstan companies - public joint stock companies (PJSC) "Tatneft", "Kamaz", "Kazan Helicopter Plant", LLC "UK KER-Holding", JSC "Ak Bars Shipbuilding Corporation" - are actively implementing projects of trade and economic orientation. Mutual cooperation in agroindustry and medical industry is strengthened. During the last two years the Consulate General and the "Turkmen Trade House" LLC were opened in Kazan.

Touching upon the cultural and humanitarian partnership, the Consul General said that almost 5 thousand Turkmen students are currently studying at the universities of Tatarstan. A number of higher educational institutions have signed the Memorandums of Cooperation, the academic staff regularly delivers lectures online. It is planned to further strengthen the scientific and legal basis of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Tatarstan.

Another proof of the Turkmen-Tatar partnership is the intention to hold a cultural and festive event at IMO KFU in cooperation with the Turkmen Consulate General, marking the 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Russia, which will be celebrated on April 8, 2022. It will be attended not only by Turkmen and Russian, but also by foreign students.
