Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan meets with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan

During his visit to Astana, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting it was noted that Turkmen-Kazakh relations are of strategic nature. Contacts at the highest level are of particular importance in this regard. The parties stressed the effectiveness of interaction within the framework of authoritative international organizations, including the UN.

Promising directions for further strengthening of interstate ties in political and diplomatic, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres were considered. The fruitfulness of intergovernmental, inter-parliamentary, interdepartmental and inter-Midway ties was noted.
Current issues on the international agenda were also discussed.
