Today, Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov received the credentials of Narine Sahakyan, UNDP Resident Representative in Turkmenistan. The Head of State and UNDP Resident Representative discussed possibilities for strengthening strategic cooperation in a number of areas: economic diversification, digital transformation, health, social inclusion, protection of the natural environment and minimizing the impact of climate change, energy efficiency, reducing risks of natural disasters and human rights.
Ms. Sahakyan thanked the Turkmen leader for the invaluable support in the implementation of programs and development projects, according to international obligations and vectors, reflected in the National Program of Socio-economic Development of the State for 2011-2030, and also expressed a desire to expand cooperation within the National Program 2022-2052, aimed at achieving the SDGs on a local and global scale.
In her address to the media, Narine Sahakyan emphasized that UNDP will continue to be a reliable strategic partner of Turkmenistan's leadership in achieving sustainable development.
