A reception in honor of Victory Day was held in the building of the Russian Embassy in Ashgabat

A reception in honor of the 79th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War was held in the building of the Russian Embassy in Ashgabat on May 9. This was reported by the TurkmenPortal online edition.

Among the invited guests were representatives of the Government of Turkmenistan, heads and staff of diplomatic missions, cultural figures, businessmen and Russian citizens living in Turkmenistan. The guests of honor were WWII veterans Sergey Tevosovich Aghamyan, Elena Timofeevna Oganisyan, Antonina Pavlovna Pryanichnikova and Galina Alekseevna Mamedova.

An exhibition of propaganda posters "Windows of Turkmentag", which were produced in Turkmenistan during the war years, was held. Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ivan Volynkin expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for assistance in preserving the memory of the common victory over fascism.
