This year the 300th anniversary of Turkmen poet Makhtumkuli Fraghi is celebrated, which became the main theme of the International Film Festival "Gorkut ata".
The movie "Magtymguly Pyragy", created as a result of joint work of Uzbek and Turkmen cinematographers, tells about the life of the great poet and thinker of the East. This movie is one of the most anticipated premieres of the festival.
The film emphasizes the friendship between the peoples of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The movie features actors from both countries, and most of the filming took place in Uzbekistan, where Makhtumkuli Fraghi spent his childhood.
