Event in honor of Azerbaijani figure Heydar Aliyev held in Ashgabat

A solemn event was held at the building of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Turkmenistan in honor of the 101st anniversary of the birth of national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev. This was reported by the Internet publication "Türkmenistan habarlar portaly".

A flower laying ceremony was held at the bust of national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev at the Embassy. Azerbaijani Ambassador Hismet Gezalov, diplomats and invited guests, including representatives of the Azerbaijani community in Turkmenistan, members of public organizations and media attended the ceremony.

In his speech, Ambassador Hismet Gezalov talked of the worthy contribution made by Heydar Aliyev to the formation of modern statehood of Azerbaijan, recognition of the state in the international arena and economic recovery.
