The Day of Remembrance and Mourning for the Victims of World War II was held in Turkmenistan

On June 22 in Turkmenabat on the Day of Remembrance and Mourning for the victims of the Great Patriotic War a ceremony of laying flowers at the military memorial complex of 1941-1945 was held. This is reported by the Internet edition "SNG.fm.".

The event was attended by military and air attache at the Russian Embassy, representatives of the Russian diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan, public figures, veterans and residents of the city. During the ceremony, an address by Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ivan Volynkin was read out. He noted that in 1941-1945, almost every fourth resident of Turkmenistan went to the front. Not all the soldiers returned home, so it is the duty of the next generations to preserve the bright memory of them.

Earlier, on June 21, the "Candle of Remembrance" action was held in the building of the Department of Education, Science and Culture of the Russian Embassy.
