Exercises on actions in case of emergency were held in Turkmenistan

The Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan together with the Ministry of Education with the support of UNICEF and the National Red Crescent Society held simulation exercises on actions in case of emergency in the velayats of the country. This is reported on the Centralasia.news website.

The exercise was conducted for two months - from May to July - in Ashgabat, Dashoguz, Lebap and Akhal provinces. The activities took place within the framework of the program "Strengthening Local and National Capacity for Emergency Preparedness and Response in Central Asian Countries at High Risk of Earthquakes and Natural Disasters" in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding on Disaster Cooperation and Action Program between NOCPT and the UN Children's Fund.

A total of 1,000 schoolchildren, 400 principals and teachers from 10 target schools, and 300 staff and volunteers from the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan participated in the simulation exercise.
