On September 9, cotton harvest started in Akhal, Balkan, Lebap and Mary velayats of Turkmenistan. This was reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
Due to the more northern location of the region, in Dashoguz province the agricultural campaign for cotton harvest will begin on September 15. Due to optimal climatic conditions, medium-fiber and fine-fiber cotton is grown in Turkmenistan.
Cotton growing in Turkmenistan ensures the implementation of the national program in the field of import substitution, contributes to increasing the export potential of the country. The products of silk growers are in high demand in the world markets.
At present, the country is introducing digital technologies in agriculture and attaches great importance to scientific breeding and creation of new cotton varieties.
