Turkmenistan's higher schools have summarized the results of the 2024 entrance campaign. Young people have made their responsible and conscious choice of future profession and are actively preparing for a new stage of their life. This was reported by the correspondent Arzuw.news.
Educational institutions of the republic have announced the opening of a number of new areas of training, updated curricula and provided all conditions for training future highly qualified specialists. The Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management became one of the higher schools of the republic where new specialties were opened. In order to successfully implement all the developed strategic vectors of economic development from 2024-2025 academic year, students will be trained in a new bachelor's degree direction "international trade".
The emergence of this specialty is due to the need to provide the labor market with professionals capable of analyzing trends in world markets, using mechanisms for promoting goods and services abroad, and calculating the effectiveness of trade deals. In addition to basic disciplines, future specialists will study the principles of trade organization, international economic relations, logistics and stock exchange.
The training program of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan has been supplemented with a Master's degree in International Arbitration and Business Law. Improvement of the scientific and educational base of the country's diplomatic service is in the focus of special attention of the authorities. The innovation is aimed at training lawyers in the field of commercial and investment arbitration and business relations.
Young specialists will study international normative documents and treaties, peaceful means used in resolving various economic disputes and in accordance with the UN Charter. The emergence of a new area of training fully meets the foreign policy objectives set by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The development of the transportation sector in the country causes a growing need for specialists whose qualifications meet the highest international standards of higher education. The Institute of Engineering and Transport Communications of Turkmenistan has announced the enrollment in new specialties including "technical operation of aircrafts and engines" and "technical operation of aviation and radio-electronic equipment of aircrafts" from 2024-2025 academic year.
"The new areas of training meet the demands not only of domestic employers, but also of global aviation giants. Thus, we will be able to create our own personnel base of advanced engineers and aircraft mechanics capable of adequately and timely responding to the challenges of the modern technological era and the digital transformation that is observed in modern aviation," said Alty Bayramov, specialist of the scientific department of the Institute of Engineering and Transport Communications of Turkmenistan.
For the first time since 2024-2025 academic year, the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction has offered applicants training in such specialties as "standardization, metrology and certification" and "seismology and earthquake-resistant construction". Future specialists will be able to evaluate industrial products, equipment, processes, control the quality and compliance of manufactured products with the requirements.
Large-scale urban development projects being implemented in Turkmenistan increase the demand for highly qualified seismologists. Students in this area of training will have to learn how to identify suitable areas for construction, use and expand their knowledge of earthquake engineering, and apply innovative technologies, equipment and solutions.

In 2024, the republic's farmers and agrarians have achieved great victories, which increasingly fuel the interest of entrants to agriculture. This trend was clearly demonstrated during the admission campaign organized by the Saparmurat Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University, which opened such new areas of training under the Master's program as "economics and management of agriculture" and "zootechnics".
The innovations will make it possible to train experts skilled in economic analysis and planning in agro-industrial companies, management of production and sales processes, development of marketing strategies and economic research. Training of professionals in the field of zootechnics is no less relevant for the development of the agrarian sector of the economy. Young specialists who have chosen this direction will have to study the peculiarities of breeding and maintenance of domestic animals and improvement of their productive pedigree qualities.
