The Turkmen National Conservatory named after M. Kuliyeva held a concert as part of the festival of young guitarists in memory of Islam Babayev. This is reported by the online publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
The concert was attended by pupils of children's music schools No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 of Ashgabat, the Special Music Boarding School at the Turkmen National Conservatory, the Turkmen State Special Music School named after D. Ovezov, students of the Turkmen National Conservatory, as well as amateur guitarists.
The works of outstanding Turkmen composers Nury Halmamedov and Chari Nurymov were performed on the stage of the Small Hall of the Conservatory. The audience heard the national music "Çoh derde goýan ýarym", "Maşak ýar", as well as compositions arranged for performance on the six-string guitar - "Meleguş", "Türkmen sährasy", "Akja kepderi".
Guitar music festivals are held annually in Turkmenistan to find and discover new talents.
