Expert U. Ussaev spoke about the prospects of development of the gas industry of Turkmenistan

Expert Ussa Ussayev spoke about Turkmenistan's efforts to increase natural gas exports. This is reported on the Centralasia.news website.

Assessing the prospects for the development of the gas industry in the country, Ussaev noted that China is one of the largest buyers of Turkmen gas. Currently, gas is supplied through three strings of the transnational Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline, and there are plans to build a fourth string, which will bring gas supply to 60 billion cubic meters per year.

In addition, Turkmenistan supplies gas to Russia and, from January 2022, to Azerbaijan. The TAPI gas pipeline - Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India - is at the realization stage. In addition, the construction of the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline is under discussion.

The expert emphasized that one of the most promising areas is the development of hydrocarbon resources in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea.
