A horse breeder from Kazakhstan was honored by Turkmenistan for preserving Akhal-Teke horses

On September 6, 2023, in the Turkmen Social and Cultural Center of Almaty, a ceremony of awarding the honorary title of Turkmenistan to a Kazakh horse breeder was held. Dik Yakov Yakovlevich was awarded the title "Honored horse breeder of Turkmenistan" by the decree of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov for his significant contribution to the development of Kazakh horse breeding and preservation of the Akhalteke breed. This is reported by the press service of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Kazakhstan.

In Turkmenistan, the Akhalteke breed is considered a national treasure. The Decree of the President of Turkmenistan on awarding Yakov Yakovlevich with the honorary title was read out at the ceremony. In his speech Yakov Yakovlevich expressed his gratitude for the high honor given by the President of Turkmenistan.

Kazakhstani blogger Yakov Fedorov attended the ceremony and filmed an interview with Yakovlevich about receiving the award. Fedorov plans to share the news on social media to celebrate Turkmenistan's recognition of the horse breeder's merits in promoting the Akhalteke breed internationally.

The participants of the ceremony welcomed Turkmenistan's decision to recognize the longtime Kazakh horse breeder for his efforts to preserve and breed Akhalteke horses, a breed known for its characteristic metallic luster and speed. Yakov Yakovlevich has been working with this breed for more than 30 years.
