President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov and Russian President Vladimir Putin touched on strengthening trade and economic relations in a telephone conversation.
The leaders voiced warm congratulations to each other on the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory. They emphasized that their nations continue to remember and honor the feat of the soldiers and home front workers, so this year's anniversary date has special significance.
The president of Turkmenistan thanked Vladimir Putin for the participation of the Russian delegation in the celebrations. A copy of the Victory Banner and the original combat banner of the 748th Infantry Regiment, 206th Division, 2nd Ukrainian Front, where Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's grandfather, Berdimuhamed Annaev fought during the war, was especially important for the Turkmen leader.
The leaders also discussed the situation arising from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The presidents agreed to further talks on mutual cooperation at the level of ministries and departments.
