Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko had a telephone conversation yesterday with the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Valentina Matvienko congratulated the Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty on his birthday and conveyed warm greetings from Russian President Vladimir Putin to the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Head of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized Valentina Matviyenko's significant contribution as a friend of Turkmenistan to the strengthening of interstate dialogue.
The interlocutors stated that the relations between the two countries have the character of a deepened strategic partnership based on the traditions of friendship and mutual respect. The sides named the open constructive dialog at the highest state level as the main factor in expanding the Turkmen-Russian relations.
Constructive political dialog, inter-parliamentary cooperation and consultations between the foreign ministries are maintained between the states. Turkmen-Russian trade and economic ties and cooperation in cultural, scientific and humanitarian spheres are actively developing.
At the end of the conversation, the sides exchanged wishes of health, success and well-being to the peoples of both countries.
