Meredov meets with Pakistan's new ambassador Faryal Leghari

The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan presented copies of her credentials

Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov today held a meeting with Pakistan's new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Turkmenistan Faryal Leghari, who presented copies of her credentials to the Turkmen side.

The Foreign Minister congratulated the diplomat on the appointment and assured her of readiness to provide comprehensive assistance in the fulfillment of her diplomatic mission.

During the talks, the sides discussed the state of bilateral relations in political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres. The diplomats emphasized the importance of maintaining regular contacts at the highest state level to strengthen Turkmen-Pakistani ties.

Special attention was paid to the effective partnership within the framework of international organizations - the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Economic Cooperation Organization. Minister Meredov noted the importance of the 1995 Islamabad Declaration as a basis for the adoption of the UN Resolution on Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan of December 12, 1995.

The meeting participants discussed promising cooperation projects in the energy and transport sectors, including the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline, power transmission lines and fiber-optic communication system.

Ambassador Legari assured of her readiness to make maximum efforts to further develop mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
