On the recommendation of the UNESCO Executive Board and on the initiative of Turkmenistan, supported by Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Ukraine, the day of celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of prominent Turkmen poet Makhtumkuli Fraghi has been included in the list of UNESCO anniversaries for 2024-2025. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
Earlier, on May 24 this year, the collection of manuscripts of the Turkmen philosopher and poet was included by UNESCO in the International Memory of the World List.
Turkmenistan is preparing for a wide celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Makhtumkuli Fraghi. Cultural events are planned, as well as the inauguration of a monument in honor of the great thinker and poet, which is erected in the foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains.
