Today, on December 13, a press briefing of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan Yerkebulan Sapiyev was held at the Yildiz Hotel in the capital city. Representatives of the diplomatic corps and the media accredited in Ashgabat were invited to participate in the briefing.
The press briefing was devoted to issues of political and socio-economic development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the results, to date, of bilateral cooperation with Turkmenistan.

Welcoming the participants of the meeting, the Ambassador thanked those present for accepting the invitation to the next Embassy briefing and congratulated those gathered on the International Neutrality Day.
Then, in his speech, Ambassador Sapiyev focused on the results of political and social-economic development of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 10 months of this year.
Focusing on bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, the diplomat noted the prospects for expanding the horizons of mutually beneficial trade and economic partnership. Thus, the trade turnover between the two countries, for the first nine months of 2019, according to the Ambassador, is 89 million U.S. dollars, and by the end of the year, this figure will increase to 120 million U.S. dollars. By rail, the volume of freight transport, in the first nine months of this year, amounted to about seven million tons. To date, mineral, chemical, textile and agricultural products are imported from Turkmenistan to Kazakhstan.

As the head of Kazakhstan's diplomatic mission noted, next year it is planned to bring the volume of trade turnover to 240 million dollars, i.e. to increase it twice compared to the current year. The positive dynamics of Kazakh-Turkmen relations in recent times, indicates Ashgabat's readiness to further intensify cooperation with Nur-Sultan in key areas of partnership, - emphasized Erkebulan Sapiyev.
