Turkmenistan's Permanent Representative to the UN meets with ESCAP representative

On July 12, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN A. Ataeva met with UN Deputy Secretary General, Executive Secretary of ESCAP Armida Salcia Alishahbana. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed cooperation between Turkmenistan and ESCAP in the fields of transport, energy, climate change, disaster risk reduction, as well as interaction within SPECA.

The representative of Turkmenistan expressed gratitude to ESCAP for supporting the Turkmen initiative on the Aral Sea basin. The representative of ESCAP, in turn, congratulated Turkmenistan on the opening of the new city of Arkadag and confirmed participation in the event on sustainable transport organized by the Permanent Mission together with ECOSOC.
