A meeting was held representatives of the chambers of commerce and industry of Turkmenistan и of the Republic of Belarus. The event was held in the online format. The participants discussed further directions of development of the Turkmen-Belarusian partnership.
About eighty Belarusian companies were invited to participate in the event, and the Turkmen side was represented by delegates of ministries and key sectoral agencies. The meeting was held in the format of an online conference.
Participants of the webinar noted that an important component of the dialogue between the two countries is cooperation in the field of economy. Both sides have considerable potential for a more intensive relationship in this area, so they are taking active steps to implement it.
The Belarusian side mentioned the Turkmen textile industry, production of construction materials and pharmaceuticals as priority areas of interest. The sides discussed opportunities for the implementation of joint projects, as well as the prospects for increasing trade turnover.
The participants of the meeting shared the measures taken by their countries to support entrepreneurs, overcome existing barriers and intensify business contacts. The participants of the video conference did not ignore the situation in the global and regional economies in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic. Representatives of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry made a proposal to hold regular working visits, as well as meetings online.
