Turkmenistan Customs met with representatives of ADB and the CAREC program

Representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan held a working meeting with representatives of the Asian Development Bank and the Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation. This is reported on the official website of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.

The agenda was the possibility of Turkmenistan joining the CAREC Enhanced Transit System and the General Information Exchange projects. The UTS/COI system was modeled on and based on the new NCTS digital transit system.

The text of the Memorandum of Understanding on Turkmenistan's accession to the STCU/OIF was considered in connection with the forthcoming participation in the above projects.

Participation in these projects will facilitate transit transport in the CAREC region and reduce the cost of transit trade.
