Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov attended the opening ceremony of the Kerki International Airport. There the head of state boarded the newly acquired Boeing 777-200LR airliner, where he spoke with its passengers and pilots.
Among the people who flew the Kerky-Turkmenabat route were newlyweds. From the conversation with them it became known that the young people met exactly during the construction of this airport complex, and their personal celebration coincided with the opening ceremony. The head of state also talked to the groom's parents. Passengers expressed gratitude to the Turkmen leader for his work for the benefit of the homeland and his countrymen and thanked him for his congratulatory words.
The wedding celebration continued on board the airliner, and the president was invited to the Bagt Koshgi Turkmenabat Palace for the wedding.
It should be noted that the Boeing 777-200LR is the fourth aircraft of this modification, built for Turkmenistan by an American company. Its hull number is EZ-A780. The aircraft boasts modern General Electric GE90-110B1L engines, long range flight capability (almost 16 thousand kilometers), three extra fuel tanks, new undercarriage legs and reinforced frame. Also the plane has a number of other features peculiar to this modification. The airliner has a capacity of 291 seats, 23 of which are in business class and 263 in economy class.
The head of state also had time to talk to the pilots of the new aircraft. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov spoke to the pilots of the military transport aircraft that also landed in Kerki. The President received a report from the crew commanders and congratulated the pilots on the opening of the airport and wished them success in their work.
