Serdar Berdymukhamedov visited the "People's Memory" memorial complex in Ashgabat on Memorial Day, which is held annually on October 6. He laid wreaths at a large monument that combines three famous sculptural compositions.
One of them symbolizes the eternal memory of the victims of the tragic earthquake of 1948, when the elements killed more than 170 thousand citizens of Turkmenistan, and Ashgabat was completely destroyed.
Two other sculptures of the memorial complex are dedicated to the soldiers who defended their homeland and died during the Great Patriotic War and other wars.
After the flower-laying ceremony, Serdar Berdymukhamedov participated in a memorial meal held in accordance with all national traditions.
