President Serdar Berdymukhamedov relieved Guizgeldi Baydzhanov of his post as head of the State Committee for Water Management of Turkmenistan due to his transfer to another job. The corresponding decree was signed at a regular government meeting, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported today.
Baidjanov had worked in this position since February 2020. Durdy Genjiev was appointed the new chairman of the State Committee.
In addition, the head of state replaced two deputy chairmen, Joshmyrat Sedekov and Dovletmyrat Mammedov, with the remark "as having failed in their duties.
Serdar Ataev, Yklym Hodzhagulyev and Charyyar Chetiev were appointed to these positions.
The new leadership was instructed by the president to continue to work on increasing the volume of reservoirs to create additional water reserves and ensure the proper functioning of pumps.
In order to create the necessary amount of irrigation water, Berdymukhamedov instructed to timely and properly clean drainage collectors, take measures to improve the reclamation condition of cropland, and prepare proposals for the installation of water meters on canals and the use of water-saving technologies.
