President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov received credentials from the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Turkmenistan Shin Sung-chul. On assuming his post, the diplomat also conveyed greetings and best wishes to the Turkmen leader from President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in. The leader noted that Turkmenistan was the first country he visited in the Central Asian region when he assumed this high position.
The ambassador noted that his country attaches great importance to cooperation with Central Asian states, stressing that Turkmenistan occupies a leading position among the countries of the region. The diplomat confirmed that the state, whose interests he represents, is interested in further increasing the bilateral partnership in accordance with the common goals and interests.
The Turkmen leader announced his intention to visit the Republic of Korea as soon as the interstate borders open and all conditions for the next high-level meeting are ensured.
The Korean Ambassador assured the President of Turkmenistan that while in this position he would do his best to strengthen and develop the existing good relations between the two countries. The diplomat intends to promote the expansion of multilevel partnership in the interests of both countries no less actively.
