UNDP organized trainings on climate change adaptation in Turkmenistan

The United Nations Development Programme together with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan with funding from the Green Climate Fund organized a series of trainings on adaptation to climate change. This is reported in the press release of UNDP in Ashgabat.

6 consecutive workshops are planned and are organized within the framework of the project "Development of the national adaptation planning process in Turkmenistan" with the aim to increase the knowledge of local specialists involved in water resources management planning. The workshops will improve the capacity of specialists to implement adaptation measures related to global climate change.

Regional structures of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea also took part in the organization of trainings. The topic of the first training session was rational use and protection of water resources under climate change conditions in Turkmenistan, as well as at global and regional levels.
