The high level of strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and Russia exists not only on paper but in reality as well. Russian media report that Russian President Vladimir Putin said this at a meeting with the president of Turkmenistan on the margins of the SCO summit in Samarkand. Serdar Berdymukhamedov participates in the meeting as the guest of honor.
"The level of strategic partnership, which has been formed and fixed in the relevant documents, it is not only on paper, but in fact in life it happens so," Putin said.
He assured that Russia intends to take these relations to a new level, as stipulated in the declaration on deepening the strategic partnership.
The heads of the two countries also discussed a wide range of issues of cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, strengthening economic and inter-parliamentary relations, and strengthening the cultural and humanitarian dimension.
