The first meeting of a newly created community of Central Asian women artisans took place Wednesday, November 23, via video link. The participants were craftswomen from Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. Representatives of the UN offices also participated in the forum.
The creation of such a community will allow taking successful steps towards the development of women's entrepreneurship and handicrafts in the Central Asian region. The development of this line of business will also contribute to the preservation of cultural heritage and traditions of arts and crafts.
In addition, community members will be able to exchange constructive experiences and hold international fairs and festivals.
