Manuscripts of Turkmen poet Makhtumkuli Fraghi included in the UNESCO Memory of the World Register

Ashgabat hosted solemn events on the occasion of Turkmenistan receiving certificates of inclusion of the collection of manuscripts of Makhtumkuli Fraghi in the UNESCO Memory of the World Register. This is reported by the online edition of "Türkmenistan Habarlar Portaly".

UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan Dmitry Shlapachenko, representatives of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, specialists of the Makhtumkuli Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts, scientists, professors and students took part in the festive events.

The collection of manuscripts of Makhtumkuli Fraghi, included in the Memory of the World Register, includes extant manuscripts of the works of the famous philosopher and thinker, which spread across the territory of Turkmenistan in the 18th-19th centuries.

Dmitry Shlapachenko presented certificates of inclusion of Makhtumkuli's collection of poems in the Memory of the World Register to the Minister of Culture and the President of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.
