Serdar Berdymukhamedov pardons more than 500 prisoners

On April 22, at a scheduled meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, President Berdymukhamedov announced the traditional pardoning of convicts in honor of the holy night of Ramadan - Gadyr gijesi. This was reported by the State Information Agency of Turkmenistan at its website.

514 prisoners who sincerely repented and promised to start a new life will return to their families in the coming days. As instructed by the president, all those convicted and released on this holy night will be employed.

Throughout the history of this tradition, many thousands of citizens of Turkmenistan have been released from prison, ready to return to normal life and work for the benefit of the country and its people.
