President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with UNEP Executive Director, UN Deputy Secretary General Ms. Inger Andersen in Dubai on the sidelines of the 28th session of COP28. This was reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
During the meeting, mutual interest in further development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNEP was confirmed. Currently Turkmenistan with the support of UNEP is preparing the Fourth National Communication on Climate Change under the UNFCCC.
It was noted that jointly with the International Observatory on Methane Emissions the preparation of the project and trainings in the climate sphere for Turkmen specialists is being carried out. Joint scientific research is carried out, and work is also underway to change the national legislation in this area.
