On July 13, trilateral talks were held between the foreign ministers of Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, and Azerbaijan.
R.Meredov (Turkmenistan), E.Mammadyarov (Azerbaijan) and M.H.Atmar (Afghanistan) noted high level of diplomatic relations between the states. This is evidenced by agreements reached by the leaders of the countries at an online meeting in early July. In particular, at the highest level issues of interaction within the framework of the Lapis Lazuli project were raised.
R.Meredov emphasized the importance of using the transport potential of trilateral cooperation. Implementation of initiatives of the Head of Turkmenistan plays an important role in this direction, in particular: formation of the Single Logistics Center, introduction of modern technologies, optimization of customs procedures and tariffs. Continuation of work in this direction will contribute to strengthening of trade and economic relations between the states of the region.
Dialogue participants confirmed their intention to continue negotiations in the format of online meetings at the level of ministries and agencies.
Other relevant topics of the talks also included countering COVID-19.
