Turkmenistan intensifies participation in UNESCO programs

In order to expand and strengthen cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNESCO, Turkmenistan plans to join a number of UNESCO institutes and networks. This is reported on the Orient news website.

This proposal was put forward by Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister R. Meredov during Friday's Cabinet meeting.

Joint projects include the connection of the Makhtumkuli Youth Organization of the country to the UNESCO Global Youth Network and the participation of Turkmenistan's scientific centers in projects on cultural heritage, environment, archaeology, history, ethnography, written and oral literature and social sciences.

Within the framework of cooperation, a joint conference on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's membership in UNESCO is planned to be held in Ashgabat in 2024.
