Turkmenistan and Malaysia discuss inter-parliamentary cooperation

Turkmenistan's Ambassador to Malaysia M. Mashalov held a meeting with Chairman of the Senate of Malaysia Dato' Awang Bemi Awang Ali Basah at the Parliament building in Kuala Lumpur. Arzuw.news reports with reference to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Malaysia.

The meeting was held on August 21 to discuss the current state and prospects of inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries. The sides emphasized the important role of inter-parliamentary cooperation in strengthening political and diplomatic ties.

The participants of the talks noted the need to intensify the work of the parliamentary friendship groups of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the Parliament of Malaysia. The sides discussed the possibility of organizing mutual visits of parliamentarians and holding a meeting of Turkmen-Malaysian parliamentary friendship groups.

The interlocutors highly appreciated the level of friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Malaysia and expressed readiness for their further development on a long-term and mutually beneficial basis.
