Turkmenistan and the USA discussed the main directions of cooperation

On February 13, the Turkmen delegation met with the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Central Asia, Ambassador J. Pommersheim, at the US Department of State. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Within the framework of the talks, the sides discussed the main directions of bilateral cooperation in trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian and political-diplomatic spheres. It was emphasized that bilateral political consultations between the states are of particular importance. Organizational issues of the upcoming political consultations this year were discussed during the meeting.

The Turkmen delegation also met with K. Setola, the U.S. State Department's coordinator for the C5+1 Secretariat. During the meeting, the activities of the "C5+1" working groups on security, economy, energy and environmental protection were highly appreciated.
