Turkmenistan prepares for Central Asia-China summit

The summit in the format "Central Asia - China" will be held from May 18 to 19 this year, which will open new opportunities for cooperation between the five Central Asian states and China. Turkmenistan's role in the event is reported in the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

According to experts, the main areas of cooperation between the five Central Asian countries and China are energy, transportation, investment and economic spheres.

Turkmenistan is China's largest energy partner, which is particularly emphasized after the construction of the gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to the PRC. Special emphasis during the upcoming summit will be placed on increasing natural gas supplies through the three existing gas pipelines.

Turkmenistan's participation in the summit will ensure the energy component of the partnership between the states. The upcoming event will also discuss the possibility of building a fourth gas pipeline along the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Tajikistan-Kyrgyzstan-China route. The new pipeline will increase the volume of gas supplied to China to 65 billion cubic meters per year, as well as provide gas supplies to Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
