Representatives of Turkmenistan and the Astrakhan region of Russia in the video mode considered the prospects for the restoration of cargo transportation on a permanent basis, as well as the opening of the Turkmen logistics center. The event was initiated by the Turkmen Consulate in Astrakhan. The logistics center is planned to open on the territory of the port special economic zone (SEPZ) of the Astrakhan region.
The participants in the virtual discussion were delegates from relevant ministries, both Turkmen and Russian sides, representatives of the Special Economic Zone "Lotos", as well as companies, whose activities are related to transport and logistics.
Turkmenistan intends to create its own logistics center in the Astrakhan region in order to further optimize the flow of goods and increase competitiveness. According to the Turkmen side, the center will help to attract investment and ensure the fruitful work of companies involved in transportation and freight forwarding.
In light of these circumstances, the restoration of permanent freight traffic between Turkmenistan and the Astrakhan region of Russia is essential.
The participants agreed to form a joint working group to address issues of establishing the Turkmen logistics center in the Astrakhan region. In addition, consultations will be organized, which will be attended by experts from relevant ministries from both sides.
