Baku, July 28 - Arzuw.news. The eighth meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Azerbaijani Commission on Economic Cooperation was held in the capital of Azerbaijan, where the parties discussed the prospects of development of bilateral partnership in key sectors of the economy. This is reported by the publication Turkmenistan: Golden Age.
The Turkmen delegation was represented at the talks by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Nokerguly Atagulyev, while the Azerbaijani side was headed by Economy Minister Mikail Jabbarov.
The participants of the meeting noted the successful development of trade and economic ties between the two countries and noted the positive dynamics of transit transportation. Special attention was paid to the need to activate the activities of the private sector of both countries through participation in trade events, exhibitions and international forums.
The talks identified priority areas for deepening cooperation, including energy, oil and gas, chemical industry, transportation, communications, agriculture, food industry and environmental sphere.
Based on the results of the Commission's work, the parties signed a Protocol, which enshrines the agreements on expanding cooperation in various areas of economy. The ninth meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission is scheduled to be held in Ashgabat.
