Turkmenistan and the EU develop cooperation in the humanitarian sphere

On March 19, during the working visit of the Turkmen delegation to Brussels, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the European Union Special Representative for Human Rights Olof Skoog. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The importance of cooperation in bilateral format was noted, including within the framework of the Human Rights Dialogue and the EU-Turkmenistan Joint Committee held in Turkmenistan and in Belgium.

The Minister familiarized Olof Skoog with the measures taken in the country in the humanitarian direction, and also spoke about the improvement of the legal framework. The activities and main tasks of the Interdepartmental Commission to ensure the fulfillment of Turkmenistan's international obligations in the field of human rights and international humanitarian law were presented.
