Turkmenistan and Iraq held political consultations

Turkmen-Iraqi political consultations were held today in the building of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry. This is reported on the website of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

On the Turkmen side, the delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister S. Muhammetdurdyev, and on the Iraqi side by Deputy Foreign Minister Mohammad Bahr Al-Ulum. During the meeting, the need to expand the legal framework was noted and a proposal to establish the Turkmen-Iraqi Interparliamentary Friendship Group was put forward.

The sides emphasized that the states provide each other with effective mutual support within the framework of international structures. The Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan invited Iraq to participate in the Summit of Heads of State scheduled for October 2024.

It was noted that trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres have great opportunities for the development of cooperation.
