Islamabad, July 3 - Arzuw.news. The Islamic Republic of Pakistan on July 3 hosted talks between representatives of Turkmenistan and a delegation of the International Congress of Parliamentarians aimed at strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation. This was reported by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Pakistan.
The meeting was held at the Turkmen Embassy under the leadership of the IGC Secretary General, Senator Sitara Ayaz. The Turkmen side presented the main principles of the country's foreign policy, emphasizing the commitment to the status of permanent neutrality.
The participants of the talks paid special attention to the economic potential of Turkmenistan and the role of the Mejlis in the implementation of state development programs. The delegation of the International Congress of Parliamentarians highly appreciated the peacekeeping initiatives of Turkmenistan and the activities of the national parliament.
During the meeting the sides discussed the prospects of organizing joint events, exchange of experience in the field of lawmaking and expansion of practical cooperation between the parliamentary structures of the two sides.
