Turkmenistan and UN-Habitat develop cooperation

A round table on cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN Human Settlements Program was held today in the Turkmen capital in the building of the Foreign Ministry. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova, UN-Habitat Interregional Adviser for Eastern Europe and Central Asia K. Schaefer, UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan D. Shlapachenko, as well as representatives of relevant ministries and agencies of Turkmenistan.

In the course of the meeting, the participants discussed topical issues related to further activities on the opening of the UN-Habitat Office in Turkmenistan and the development of a legal framework for cooperation.
The positive dynamics of the fruitful partnership between the specialized agencies of Turkmenistan and UN-Habitat was noted.
