On Thursday, August 24, an Uzbek delegation led by Energy Minister Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov met with Turkmenistan's Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Annamammedov to discuss issues of strengthening bilateral partnership with a focus on cooperation in the energy sector. This was reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

The talks focused on the implementation of major joint projects, such as the construction of power transmission lines connecting the two countries. The sides also reviewed the implementation of previously reached agreements, particularly in the fuel and energy sector.

Considerable attention at the meeting was paid to the tasks set during the recent trilateral summit between Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The parties emphasized the importance of creating a multi-variant system of supply of Turkmen energy resources to neighboring countries, including Uzbekistan.

Representatives of the two countries agreed to conclude a new agreement on the supply of Turkmen natural gas to meet Uzbekistan's energy needs. Expanding natural gas trade was one of the key priorities in the negotiations.

This meeting underscores the deepening of energy cooperation between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan against the backdrop of strengthening economic ties. Much attention during the bilateral talks was paid to developing new ways to develop regional energy ties and supplies.
